I Finally Get to Dig!!!

Sunday was such a glorious day, and with all of my energy being focused on the City Council Elections I have been mourning the loss of my time that I so easily could have spent in the garden.
Yet, with Sunday's glory, I made up for lost time; and boy am I sore!

The kitchen garden bed is weeded and hoed, and ready for seeds.
One my readers was so | Direct Links | Movies world | Software world | Download PC Games | Mediafire Links | Celebrity Picturesthoughtful she sent me an express mail package filled with open pollenated seeds. I cant' wait to get in them and see what's there!

My Bee's arrive on the 11th, and I hope to have Himself's Troy Built Horse over here by then to turn this earth so we can get busy!

Thank you sooooo much for the seeds!

I'll keep you posted on what kind they are and what their progress is.

Toodles!

I'm calling it a night...

How are you? Have you had the chance to dig yet?

Steph, dig in the dirt, you'll find peace there because there sure hasn't been any peace in Salisbury or Pocomoke in a very long time.

I hope the seeds provide a plentiful crop for you. Better late than never getting them in the ground.

Happy planting.

Donna,

Thank you sooooo much for the wonderful seeds!!!!
Raleigh and I planted the peas (after soaking over night) all along the fence row.
We also planted carrots, and spinach. I didn't plant tooo much spinach as I have never had any luck with it as a spring crop, and wanted to save many of the seeds for fall.
I also decided to save the cabbage broccoli, and parsnips for fall too. As those pesky white moths tear them to pieces in the spring and early summer.
When do you suggest the fall garden be planted?
I never seem to get it together for the fall garden.and this year I want a really big one!
I also want Leeks for the winter, and want to do a late crop of potato's to have in the ground for winter too!
Please advise on where to get the leeks. Last year they had them at the nursery in the spring and they didn't make it throught the summer heat.
And also please advise on when to plant for the fall garden.

I can't wait to plant the Lima's and get to eat some of those!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Steph,

Sounds like you're having fun. I hope you soaked the spinach seed before planting, makes all the difference in the world. I always start fall planting in late July. I am holding off on Brussel Sprouts until then because I never have any luck with them in spring. The peas won't need support they are low growers and support each other pretty well. As for leeks, I have no idea what to tell you other than check out Burpees or Henry Fields online for seed. I've never grown them so can't help you there. We're planting potatoes now I hope we have a decent crop if not, I'll replant in fall.

Remember all things grown underground should be planted on the dark side of the moon. Above ground crops are grown in the light of the moon. This does matter.

Hi Cruggly!

How are you? Don't get to chat much since Joe kicked me off his blog.

Hope all is well in Cruggland!
